The board at the Foundation of Student Achievement and pleased to announce that we have commenced legal proceedings to convert our Not For Profit Foundation into an Ontario registered charity.
The decision to proceed in this direction came after a detailed review of the future of our program. To ensure the true sustainability and growth over the coming years would simply not be possible in the programs current state. We reviewed the successes of other organizations in our space and the decision became clear that a change in the Foundation structure was required.
The Foundation enlisted the services of Fogler Rubinoff, A Toronto based law firm, that will be undertaking the transition and regulatory documentation to ensure the proper transition is effected.
The Foundation has also contracted the services of Watermark Philanthropic Advising in a support role for the hiring and structuring of new key staff and their respective roles.
Further updates to follow as the process of government and CRA approvals continue.
